DFI Week 6 - Reflective Blog Post

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
  • Connection: the importance of every day connection with people

  • To make a connection with others, each party needs to share in some shape or form.

  • Face to face connection is important for wellbeing and connectedness

  • Sharing on class sites - power of children sharing their learning with each other

  • When young people are learning and sharing with others, they feel a part of something and it brings people and children together.

  • Class site - visually appealing so that the audience is hooked.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
  • Reflecting and analysing a classroom site - what works well, what doesn't, what's visually appealing. I can take this knowledge and apply it to my own site.

  • Having my class site reviewed by my small bubble - great feedback!

What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
  • Incorporating the importance of being connected and sharing with other people

  • Class site tips and tricks, getting their feedback/ideas to incorporate into our site.
