  • What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani Great Kaupapa and pedagogy?

  • Main focus is to support teachers to understand and acquire fluency in the digital world to accelerate learning outcomes for learners. 

  • LEARN = RATE: Recognise, Amplify, Turbocharge, Effective Practice

  • Creating a supportive learning environment through reflective practice (thought and action). 







  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

  • How to create and Nickname Google Meets

  • Google Keep: A place in which notes, reminders, lists can be kept. This tool can be used with the other teacher I collaborate with and/or my whole team.

  • Google Keep - Photo Text to editable text! Can use this for

  • GMAIL Organisation, scheduled emails

  • Google Calendar Organisation

  • Taming our Tabs info - having this easily accessible and organised

  • What did I learn that could be used with my learners?  

  • Recording Google Meets for students who miss meetings and/or for safety. 

  • Google Keep - Having a to do list for students (could have Google Keep for learning groups)

  • Google Keep - Photo text to editable text

  • How to create Google Meet - record - then embed them into their blogs


  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?

  • Google Keep - Using this tool for personal organisation: Shopping lists, recipes, to do lists, reminders, appointments.
  • Google Keep - Having a collaborative shopping list for my family

 Manaiakalani Pedagogy - Ubiquitous Learning - Putting the learner at the centre of all decisions so educators have their best learning needs at the centre of all decisions.  - The idea that you are a learner anytime, anywhere.  - The ability to learn digitally out of school and not with the teacher sitting right next to you.  - Being able to leave the resources and be able to access valuable learning when teachers aren't in the classroom  - If learning is available online, it is rewindable for students  - Lock down showed that majority of learning was through a screen of some sort (device, tablet, TV etc).  - The tools of a student having a device and access to the internet is life changing.  - "If it's worth teaching and learning its worth capturing".   What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy? Empowerment - learners and teachers through the digital age. "The Maniakalani kaupapa of empowerment is about advancing Rangatiratanga: taking back control of their own lifes. Need to actively show teachers the power of a digital tool for their learners. Voice - choice - ownership: learning being exciting and engaging as if it isn't, students won't by in and complete it. Empowering students on digital devices so they can be creators and show their voice through their digital learning. A digitally fluent person can decide how to use digital technology in the most effective way to achieve tasks or solve problems.
